Despite the fact most people were in Land Rovers, we all took turns pulling over to the side of the road to repair a tire or some other car part that broke along the way. The spirit of adventure was high though and every car cheered the ones on the side of the road, encouraging them to keep going. It was all worth it when the last dune was crested and the scene opened onto scores of men in blue on camel back. We had finally arrived. We stayed in the desert for three days absorbing this new experience, meeting new people (bad French skills were seriously tested!) and seeing some fantastic dancing, some of which was familiar and some completely unkown to us. | < Prev | Next > |
